Five years ago, Ron Shaver and Bob
Westphal collaborated to bring the racer/engine builder their version of the
ultimate gear drive.
Why? Because availability from other manufacturers was sparse. In addition,
the other gear drives couldn’t keep up with the high performance demands
that sprint car engines require.
You may be asking, “Why should I invest in a Shaver-Wesmar Gear Drive?”.
Simple. Ron Shaver and Bob Westphal have combined over 70 years experience in
the engine building business - these gear drives are built by professionals.
They are used on all Shaver and Wesmar engines. Every time a Shaver or a
Wesmar engine comes in for a rebuild, they are there first hand to examine the
gear drive to see if anything is at fault, or if there is something they can
do to make an already great gear drive better!
Gear Drives

The Shaver-Wesmar Gear Drives are

Degree Wheel
Shaver-Wesmar has come up with a better idea for checking
the timing on your engine! The degree wheel bolts to the front of the cam
gear. This method is more accurate than the traditional small diameter crank
hub.
